Bhubaneswar: In a unique way of protest, members of Odisha Gram Panchayat Karmachari Sangh on Monday rolled down the road at Lower PMG demanding fulfilment of their two-point charter of demands.

The Gram Panchayat staff had a scuffle with police while trying to march towards the State Assembly after breaking the barricades.

They are demanding regularisation of jobs of Class IV employees and immediate disbursal of arrears pending since the Third Pay Commission.

Kanishka Bodhisatwa, president of the association said, “We have been repeatedly requesting the State government to consider our demands. However, if the State government does not take any step regarding fulfilment of our demands, the agitation will be intensified in the coming days.”
