Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday inaugurated Dhauli police station here.
Sources said this new police station will provide better security to visitors coming to the tourist spot.
The Dhauli PS has been setup after carving out some areas which were earlier under Lingaraj police limits. Shishupalagada, Dhauli, Itipur and Tikarapada panchayats will be under the new PS.
Source said in the 3650-sq-ft plinth area police station besides counselling room, interrogation room, five hajats are built.
One inspector, two sub-inspectors, two assistant sub-inspectors, one havildar, 10 constables and one driver have been appointed for the Dhauli police station. Total Rs 77 lakh has been spent for construction of the PS building, sources added.
With the set up of this new PS the number of police stations under Commissionerate Police reaches 43.
