CESU employee electrocuted; irate locals set office on fire

Athgarh: Agitated locals in Athgarh area of Cuttack district ransacked the Central Electricity Supply Utility of Orissa’s (CESU) divisional and sub-divisional offices and set them on fire after a employee of the utility was electrocuted to death.

Even the irate locals attacked the police personnel who were trying to bring the situation under control. The police Station In-charge was injured following the attack.

The accident occurred at Godijharia intersection of Athgarh when the employee was atop an electricity pole and doing some maintenance works when he fell to ground after coming in contact with the live wire. He was rushed to the Athgarh and then Cuttack hospital in a critical condition where he breathed his last.
