Bhubaneswar: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) director Ranjit Sinha on Monday met Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the State Secretariat here.
The meeting between the CBI director and the chief minister continued for more than five minutes, an official source said, adding that Sinha has been in the state since Saturday.
After the meeting, Sinha, however, said that "It was a courtesy call."
The meeting assumed significance in the backdrop of the Justice M B Shah Commission's recommendation of a CBI probe into the multi-crore mining scam.
The CBI has already been probing into the coal scam while another case is under consideration of the Supreme Court seeking a CBI probe into the chitfund scam.
