Bhubaneswar: A rare treat is in store for music lovers of the city as flute maestro Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia will share his life in music and music in life at Rabindra Madap here on Saturday.

The musical evening, named ‘Hari Rang Hari Sang’, is being organized to mark completion of 5 years of ‘Vrindaban Gurukul’ in Bhubaneswar, a first in Odisha. The ace flutist himself will be seen speaking on his illustrious and inspiring life at the one-of-its-kind stage programme.

Similar events were earlier held in metro cities including Delhi, Mumbai and Pune where the flute exponent, instead of playing his magnificent bamboo instrument, would rather narrate to the audience the several memories of his musical life and talk about Odia and Bollywood music.

Panditji’s brain child ‘Vrindaban Gurukul’ is a ‘Vaikunth’ like place for the enthusiastic students interested in learning music from North-East, East, Central and other regions of India and students who do not manage to get a place in the Mumbai Gurukul.

On Saturday, the city will witness the historical moments when the Bansuri Samrat will share some interesting anecdotes and experiences from his earlier days in Odia and Hindi film industry. The Gurukul students will also enthrall the music lovers through their mesmerising performance at ‘Hari Rang Hari Sang’.

The event is being supported by IMFA, NALCO, Khimji Jewellers, Jyote Motors and State Department of Culture.
