Barsha Sony receives Rs 25k interim maintenance

Balasore: Barsha Sony Choudhury, the estranged daughter-in-law of former law minister and senior BJD leader Raghunath Mohanty, on Thursday collected Rs 25,000 as interim maintenance for January from the Balasore Family Court.

Counsel of Barsha Sony’s husband Rajashree Mohanty had deposited Rs 25,000 as per the directive of the family court.

Rajashree’s counsel Harekrushna Das said, “As per the directive of the court, we paid Rs 25,000 to Barsa Sony. We will produce a witness in the court tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, petitioner Barsha Sony said, “I have received the interim maintenance for the January and he (Rajashree) will deposit the arrear amount in the court within one month.”

Earlier, Rajashree’s lawyer had said he will challenge the judgment of family court in the High Court.
