Barik elected CMC Dy Mayor

Cuttack: BJD corporator Ajay Barik was elected as Deputy Mayor of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) on Saturday.

Barik, the corporator from Ward no 36 of CMC, defeated Hrushikesh Pradhan, the independent corporator from Ward No 52 in today's poll.

While Barik got 45 votes, Pradhan could manage to secure 13.

Meanwhile, Jitendra Mohanty, the BJD councillor from Ward No 5 in Baripada municipality, was elected unopposed as deputy chairperson.

BJD had won 21 out of the 28 wards in Baripada.
