Assault on lawyer in Keonjhar: District lawyers’ association demands dismissal of police officer

Keonjhar: The district lawyers’ association today met the collector here and demanded the dismissal of the police officer, who had assaulted a lawyer inside a police station on August 21.

Rudra Naryan Mahanty, the president of the lawyers’ association, who was leading the representative team, met the district collector and submitted their letter demanding the dismissal of police officer from the job.

In reply, the collector assured them by saying the matter will be discussed with higher officials to find a solution.

Notably, the Keonjhar SP had suspended the accused sub inspector Trinath Sethi and habildar Gamu Mohapatra following the complaint filed by the lawyers’ association.
