Mohana: A total of six persons were arrested on Saturday for their alleged involvement in murder of three youths of Gothakeli village of Gajapati district.
The arrested persons are Balaram Behera, Madan Behera, Krushna Behera, Lochan Behera, Kuna Behera and Dilip Parida and native of Nuanapalli village under Patapur police limits of Ganjam district. They were forwarded to a local court.
Notably, the three youths were murdered and bodies were thrown in Lakharee forest on December 23. However, police found the burnt remains of the bodies on December 26 in the forest. Following this, the police carried out its probe and nabbed the six accused today.
Gajapati SP Satyajit Nayak said, “The accused were arrested while trying to flee to either Surat or Kerala. Three police teams formed to nab the accused raided in Gokarnpur and Chintakhalli areas and arrested the six persons.”
The SP further stated the basic motive behind the murder is previous enmity.
