Nayagarh: In a case of suspected food poisoning, more than 20 people fell ill after having dinner at a wedding function at Deuligaon village in the district on Sunday.
According to reports, about 10 persons were rushed to the Nayagarh district headquarters hospital. They were among the 20 persons, including some women, who had attended a marriage party and had dinner there three days ago.
“Around 20 to 22 persons had taken food at a wedding function three days ago but started feeling unwell from yesterday,” said Bhagwan Sethi, an elderly person who fell sick after having the dinner.
Satrughna Nayak, the doctor who is treating these people, said; "Since 10 persons came to us with the same symptoms at the same time, we suspect there might be a common source behind the ailment."
"We have provided adequate treatment and their condition is now stable. But they will be kept under observation for the next 24 hours," the doctor said.
