Malkangiri: As many as 192 Bonda girl students of Badabel Kadamguda Educational Institute Complex here left their hostel alleging misbehaviour by the head mistress Sanjukta Anugulia.
According to sources, the hostel houses a total of 280 students.
Some students who the left hostel are now working at local brick kilns, locals alleged.
“Soaps which are meant for the students were being distributed among the cooks. We lodged complaint in this regard to Bijay sir. After getting our complaint, Sir asked about the incident to the head mistress. Irate over this, the principal scolded us and asked us to leave the hostel,” said Mamuni Sisa, a student of the hostel.
The headmistress, however, refuted the allegations made by the students.
“I have not harassed them. I scolded them as they were watching television and roaming here and there. I have asked them to join the hostel again and they will return in two-three days,” said the head mistress.
On being informed about the incident, Manga Pinga, PL of Bonda Development Organisation visited the hostel and started investigation into the matter.
“I have received complaint that some teachers and cooks of Badabel Kadamguda Educational Institute Complex have misbehaved with the students. When I got to know about the incident, I visited the hostel. I am trying to bring them back to hostel,” Pinga said.
“Stringent action will be taken against those person found guilty,” he added.
