Bhubaneswar: The subdued coal block allocation heat once again erupted in the House on Wednesday during question hour of second day’s proceedings with the Opposition Congress demanding CBI probe into allocation and excavation of coal mines in state. Party chief whip Prasad Harichandan who expressed dissatisfaction on the reports submitted by the concerned minister yesterday said that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik must resign on exemplary basis.

Citing contents of the report Harichandan noted that there was neither any information about coal excavation nor involvement of ministers or Chief Minister. According to the chief whip, while the centre was willing competitive bidding for coal blocks Odisha opposed it, resulting heavy loss to the national exchequer.
