Cuttack: With one more persons succumbing to dengue, the toll in the mosquito-borne disease in state rose to 24 on Saturday, official sources said.
The casualty was reported from a private hospital in the city.
The deceased Sangram Sahoo hailed from the worst-affected Angul district. With the death of the Sahoo the number of deaths due to the virus rose to 20 in the district.
In addition, the number of the dengue infected patients has gone up to 23 after one more person was tested positive in Kalimela, Koraput.
As per reports, as many as 838 patients have been tested positive out of which 382 have been detected alone from Angul district. In other dengue-hit districts of Jajpur, Dhenkanal and Cuttack as many as 96, 89 and 86 persons have been tested positive respectively so far.
