Bhubaneswar: Bringing glory for Odisha, Sonalee Raj Mohanty, a resident of Bhubaneswar, has won the Mrs India Universe(MIU) 2019 World in Platinum Category presented by Tushar Dhaliwal and Archana Tomar held in Mauritius.
As per reports, Mohanty also won the crown of Mrs Talented in the Talent Round of Glorious Grand Finale of the beauty pageant. An entrepreneur-cum-beautician, 37-year-old Mohanty, was inclined towards participating in beauty pageants from her childhood. A Master in Business Administration (MBA) from KIIT University, Mohanty also owns a Unisex Beauty Salon & Spa 'Promenad' in Bhubaneswar.
Her inclination towards fitness and fashion always motivated her to participate in this prestigious national level grand show and presenting herself in an excellent way.
After being selected in Bhubaneswar Audition of Mrs. India Universe 2019 wherein around 60 women from different cities of the State had participated and 9 got selected to national level. At National level held in Mauritius, 40 contestants from different states of India participated.
The event held in two categories Mrs India Universe Gold and Mrs India Universe Platinum. Under Gold Category women aged between 20-35 years and under Platinum category women aged between 35-50 years participated in the beauty pageant. During their 11 days stay in Mauritius, the contestants showcased their talents and aura in different rounds including, Talent, Cat Walk, Pose, Poise, Question & Answer Round judged by famous Bollywood celebs and fashion icons.
Speaking about her success, Mohanty said, "Strong dedication and determination always stood as my pillars of success. My friends and family, my husband Nandan Mohanty and my 11 years old son always motivated me to fulfil my dreams and carving a name. I know people here have the skills and talents because from Odisha nine contestants were there at the national level and the judges were amazed at how Odisha produces such talents. I must say, marriage and kids are no longer barriers to women's growth.'
Mohanty was intensely groomed by Mr. John Ajay for 10-15 days and learned contemporary and free dance style from choreographer Mandakini before leaving for Mauritius to participate in the national level of this grand beauty pageant. In Mauritius Bollywood celeb and famous ramp walk trainer Ms. Alesia Raut's grooming and ramp walk training session helped the contestants to present them as glamorous divas of the show. Mrs. Sonalee is also a passionate Odissi dancer and loves to cook.
Daily exercise and yoga act as booster to keep her fit and fresh. She is also getting prepared to participate in international level of Mrs. India Universe to be announced soon.
