Bhubaneswar: The farmers of Odisha had pinned their hopes on a low pressure system formation over Bay of Bengal by August first week. However, their hopes have been shattered as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today categorically ruled out that there is no possibility of formation of low pressure by August 4.

“So far, Odisha has not witnessed any major low pressure this season. Though we had anticipated that a low pressure would form over Bay of Bengal by August 4, it has weakened due to the formation of tropical cyclone in South China Sea,” said IMD Delhi weather expert, Rajendra Jenamani.
