Bhubaneswar/Khurda: Another youth from Odisha stranded overseas returned home safe after the intervention of former MP Baijayant Panda.
Rabi Rout, a youth from Pariorada village under Tangi block of Khurda district had gone to work for a construction company in Dubai in 2013. During his stay in Dubai, there was a dispute between the labourers and security personnel of the company following which 35 persons including Rabi were detained by the local police.
However, 30 persons were released later but Rabi was kept in custody.
Having no alternative left, Rabi's family members sought help of Panda, who assured them of full support for Rabi's repatriation.
Panda informed the matter to the Indian Ambassador to UAE, Navdeep Singh Suri through a tweet seeking latter's intervention in the matter. Subsequently, Rabi was repatriated from Dubai by the concerned department.
Rabi's family members have thanked Panda for his intervention.
