Odisha Youth Administered 'Wrong' Injection, Dies

Dhenkanal: Medical negligence can sometimes lead to deadly consequences. In one such incident, a youth died allegedly after being administered a wrong injection by a doctor at a private clinic in Dhenkanal.

As per reports, the youth Amir Kumar Jena, a resident of Baulpatna village under Odapada block of the district was admitted to the clinic by his family members after he complained of chest pain. Later, a doctor Ajit Tripathy administered an injection to the patient which the family members allege that was a wrong injection.

"I have lost my brother due to the wrong injection administered by the doctor. I demand strong action against the doctor and the laboratory officials for such negligence," said brother of the deceased.

On the other hand, the doctor has refused the allegations and said, "I had not shown any negligence towards the patient. I had actually advised him to undergo more tests to ascertain the cause of pain."

In another incident, a woman patient died at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack allegedly due to the use of a contaminated syringe.
