Bhubaneswar: As the temperature continued to drop across Odisha, 12 places of the State recorded temperature below 14 degree Celsius in the last 24 hours, informed the Regional Meteorological Centre.
Phulbani recorded the lowest temperature of 8.5 degree Celsius followed by Sonepur (8.8), Daringbadi (9), Angul (10.6), Koraput (10.6), Bhawanipatna (11.6), Sundargarh (13), Malkangiri (13), Boudh (13), Talcher (13.3), Jharsuguda (13.4) and Bolangir (13.5).
While mercury dropped to 16.4 degree Celsius in Cuttack, capital city Bhubaneswar registered 17.6 degree Celsius. Malkangiri recorded the highest temperature of 32.5 deg Celsius during the day, the Met Centre informed.
Meanwhile, very dense fog was witnessed in Chandbali in Bhadrak district and Rayagada which reduced the visibility to 40 metres. Similarly, dense fog in Paradip, Sonepur and Boudh reduced the visibility to 100 metres while shallow fog in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Koraput and Nayagarh reduced the visibility to 800 metres respectively, said the Met centre.
Meanwhile, the Met Centre said that cold conditions are expected to prevail in interiors parts of Odisha for the next five days and the weather is likely to remain dry during the period.
