Bhubaneswar: The Under Graduate (UG) and Post Graduate (PG) exams may be conducted in online mode in view of the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Odisha.
According to the State Higher Education Department sources, the concerned authorities are looking into the possibilities of holding all the UG PG exams in online mode.
It is pertinent to mention here that students had faced several issues like poor connectivity and lack of smartphones when the classes were held online last year.
“Some students didn’t come online (to attend online classes) as they were not familiar with the technology and this issue may crop up again when the exams will be held online. So, taking into account students’ safety, the government may hold the exams online but ahead of that, it should also improve and make all the requisite infrastructure in place,” said an educationist.
Earlier in the day the Higher Education Department on Friday annouced suspension of all the examinations and physical classes in universities and colleges across Odisha from April 19.
