Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will also conduct dry run of the Covid-19 vaccine in the lines of four States- Punjab, Assam, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat, which kicked off the exercise on Monday wherein every step other than the actual administering of the vaccine will be carried out.
Director of DMET CBK Mohanty informed regarding the development. “In view of its nature and character, the capacity of the new strain is claimed to have more contagious than the previous one. But, the severity and course of diseases are almost same like the earlier one. We are well prepared for the vaccination in State, district and block levels. Sufficient vaccinators are available in the State for the vaccination", Mohanty added.
Notably, the mock drill ahead of the actual vaccination has already begun in four States in the country. The exercise is aimed at testing the planned operations and mechanism for the vaccine roll out, he said.
While announcing about the dry run of the vaccine to be carried out in four States, the Union Health ministry had earlier said that The exercise will include data entry on Co-WIN, an online platform for monitoring of vaccine delivery; testing receipt and allocation; deployment of team members; mock drill of session sites with test beneficiaries.
