Odisha: RTI Activist Critical In Bomb Attack In Jajpur

Jajpur: A Right to Information (RTI) activist was injured critically after miscreants hurled bombs at his car near Imam Nagar near Dharmashala  in Jajpur district on Saturday night.

The activist identified as Sarbeswar Beuria sustained critical burn injuries. He was initially admitted to Dharmashala Community Health Centre and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after his condition deteriorated.

One of his associates who sat beside him in the car also sustained injuries.

Miscreants fled the spot soon after committing the crime.

The exact reason of the bomb attack has not been immediately known even as the State BJP termed it as a 'political violence'.

Party general secretary Lekhashree Samangsinghar, in a tweet, condemned the attack on the RTI activist and sought the intervention of Director General of Police for arrest of the culprits.
