Bolangir: Two unidentified motorcycle-borne miscreants allegedly looted Rs 5 lakh from a businessman, Sanjay Satpathy outside SBI branch at College Chhak in Bolangir town on Monday.
According to reports, the incident took place when Sanjay was returning home after withdrawing the money. It is alleged that two miscreants came on a black motorcycle and snatched the cash from Satpathy when he was about to store it in his motorcycle dickey.
Based on the complaint, police have launched an investigation into the matter.
“The person riding the bike was wearing a helmet and the person who snatched my bag was wearing an orange colour shirt. I am sure this robbery was well-planned because things happened in a blink on an eye before I could react,” said the victim.
“We have checked CCTV camera footages of the bank and nearby areas and have traced some pictures of one of the robbers. The bike had no registration number plate. We are also investigating if the information was leaked from inside the bank,” said Sangram Pattnaik, Bolangir Town Police Station IIC.
