Odisha: Retired Professor Opens Fire Over Parking, One Critical

Balasore: A person sustained critical injury when a retired professor opened fire at him near Gadagadia Square in the district on Saturday.

The injured has been identified as Anand Singh. He has been shifted to the SCB Medical College & Hospital at Cuttack in a critical condition.

According to reports, the accused identified as Laxman Behera lost his temper after an altercation over vehicle parking at an apartment. Following the flare-up, he took out a gun and opened fire at Singh.

Informed, a team of Balasore police rushed to the spot and detained Behera for questioning. Further investigation into the incident is underway.

Earlier this year, a man in his sixties had sustained bullet injuries on his head after a septuagenarian allegedly opened fire at him over previous enmity at Palasola village under Jagatsinghpur police limits.
