Bhubaneswar: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha on Monday released the much awaited question paper pattern and distribution of marks for the upcoming 2021 matriculation examination.
As per a notification issued by the BSE, the Pattern of examination and distribution of marks in different subjects for Annual High School Certificate Examination, State Open School Certificate (SOSC) Examination and Pattern of Madhyama Examination, 2021 have been notified which can be downloaded from the website www.bseodisha.ac.in.
Moreover, there will be two separate question papers in subjects General Science, Social Science for HSC & SOSC candidates basing on old and new courses.
The old course question shall be meant for HSC (Ex-Reg) and SOSC (Back) candidates and new course question shall be for HSC (Reg) and SOSC (Fresh) candidates.
“The questions in other subjects for Annual HSC & SOSC Examination, 2021 will be same for all students category. The question papers in all subjects for Madhyama Examination, 2021 will be same for different category of students,” the notification read.
The Odisha Matric Exam 2021 is scheduled to be held from May 3 to May 15. The exams will be held from 8 AM to 10 AM for all the subjects except Math which will conclude at 10:15 AM
Pattern of question with distribution of marks for annual HSC Examination, 2021:

Full Marks: 80
Objective Paper: Multiple Choice Questions (One Mark each): 50x1=50
Subjective Paper: Three Subjective Type Questions (10 Marks each): 3x 10= 30
Question (Alternative questions will be set from Prose & Poetry): 2 x 05 = 10
Question No.02 Essay (in about 200 words): 01 x10 = 10
OR
Letter Writing and Application (Each in about 100 words): 01 x 05 = 05 and 01 x 05 = 05
Question No.03: Unseen Passage: 05 x02 = 10
OR
Translation and Writing a Report / Dialogue: 01 x 05 = 05 and 01 x 05 = 05
