Odisha Lady Cop Suspended For Attacking Senior

Berhampur: A lady assistant sub-inspector (ASI) posted at Pattapur Police Station in Ganjam district was suspended today on charges of allegedly attacking the Inspector-In-Charge (IIC) of the police station over a dispute in duty allocation.

As per allegations, ASI, Pritimanjari Garnayak along with her husband attacked the IIC, Ajay Barik at the police station at around 10 PM last night.

Sources said, Garnayak with the help of her husband allegedly thrashed Barik and attempted to strangulate him.

Following the assault, Barik registered a complaint in Pattapur Police Station leveling multiple charges including attempt to murder and obstruction of government work.

Ganjam SP, Thakur Prasad Patra has placed the SI under suspension and initiated a probe in the matter.
