Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Higher Education department on Tuesday issued advertisements for appointment of vice-chancellors (VCs) of three State Universities.
The three Universities where VCs will be appointed are Rajendra University in Bolangir, Madhusudan Law University in Cuttack and Kalahandi University in Bhawanipatna.
As per the advertisement for the position of Vice-Chancellor in all three universities, the applicants should be academicians of repute with adequate administrative experience. They should be below 63 years of age (as on 1st March 2021, i.e. born after 01.03.1958).
The applicants should have a minimum of 10 years of experience as Professor in a University system or 10 years in an equivalent position in reputed research and/or academic organization.
The post carries a pay of Rs 2.10 lakh with special allowance of Rs 5,000 per month and other usual allowances.
The tenure of the Vice-Chancellor will be four years from the date he/she assumes office or till he/she attains 67 years of age; whichever is earlier.
The last date of applying for the post has been set on 25 February 2021. Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview (to be held in Bhubaneswar in physical mode) by a three-member committee. After interview, the committee will recommend three candidates to the Chancellor, the Governor of Odisha who will select one of them for appointment as Vice-Chancellor.
