Bhubaneswar: It seems that the decks for reservation of seats in the National Law University Odisha (NLUO) for students of the State have been cleared with the State government today fixing the eligibility criteria for 25% domicile quota in Under Graduate (UG) courses.
In a letter to NLUO Vice-chancellor, secretary of Higher Education Department, Saswat Mishra clarified that “The Students who have passed 12th Class or equivalent examination from the State of Odisha shall be eligible for claiming reservation for admission under the State domicile quota.”
Earlier, NLUO in a letter to Higher Education department dated December 24, 2019 had sought some clarification regarding the eligibility criteria for domicile quota.
The government has further asked the NLUO authorities to work out the necessary modalities so as to enable the students of Odisha to avail 25 % domicile reservation for taking admissions in the NLUO from the coming academic session.
The National Law University, Odisha was established by Act-IV of 2008 by the Odisha State Legislature.
The university started functioning from a rented building in 2009 while it shifted to its own campus after the state government provided land and other financial assistance.
