Bhubaneswar: In a glittering ceremony at Kalinga Stadium, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today unveiled the trophy for the upcoming Men’s Hockey World Cup to be played at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

Sharing his vision of converting Odisha into the sports capital of the country, Patnaik said, “It is really a proud moment when the National Flag and National Anthem is played during Olympics. Unfortunately the flag has not gone that often for us. I dream Odisha to produce gold medallists which will make the whole nation proud.”

Senior officials informed that memorandum of understanding have been signed to set up various high performance centres in the State.

A high performance centre for athletics by Reliance Industries, shooting academy by Olympian Gagan Narang and Tenvic Sports Academy founded by cricketer Anil Kumble for weightlifting will be set up in the State.
