Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday announced support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal for simultaneous elections in the country.
Speaking to media, Patnaik said that his government has decided to extend support because it is in the very interest of the people and the country at large.
Earlier today, the Law Commission of India wrote to Odisha CM urging him to participate in an interaction, share thoughts and suggestions on the matter of simultaneous elections.
It also requested the CM to nominate a representative on behalf of his party, in case he is not able to attend the event.
