Bhubaneswar: Giving a much needed boost to industrialization in the State, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik on Friday inaugurated first of its kind, World Skill Centre in Bhubaneswar.

While inaugurating the centre that will be used as a hub for all the government run ITIs, CM Naveen said, "Skill development has always been a priority for my government. Our aim is to meet the aspirations of the youth as well as creating a pool of increased opportunity for them. This will help the youth to stay ahead in the competition of professional world.

"World Skill Centre will also drive skill competition and will be a landing point for all industry collaborations in skill eco system," he added.

Ending his speech, Patnaik thanked the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Institute of Technical Education (ITE) Singapore for collaborating with Odisha for setting up an institute at par with global standards.

As the day coincided with the birth anniversary of his late father and former CM Biju Patnaik, Naveen remembered him by saying that, "Biju Babu always dreamt of an Odisha where the youth acquired world class skills.

Prior to the inauguration of Odisha Skill centre, the day saw inauguration of more than 3000 'Mo Seva' centres and and Odisha One portal by Naveen too.

"Biju babu was of the opinion that technology should reach every nook and corner of our State. 'Mo Seva' programme takes his dream one step closer to realisation," Patnaik said while launching the Mo Seva centres.
