Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday announced the deadline for completion of the developmental works for SCB Medical College and Hospital.
As per the proposals, renovated campus of SCB medical college & hospital, Cuttack will be inaugurated in January 2024 and the cost of the project has been estimated to be around Rs 3,500 crore.
While reviewing the mega project, Patnaik said that the SCB re-development project will come up on 175 acres of land and there are plans to convert the premier healthcare centre into a world class facility.
The mega project will be taken up under the 5-T initiative of the State government and the target is to provide AIIMS-Plus services to the people of the State.
The new project will have a provision for 5,000 beds and modern-day facilities for doctors, patients, health workers and students.
The revamped hospital will initially begin with a facility of 3,500 beds but it will be upgraded to 5,000 in the second phase.
Apart from the latest equipment, the renovated SCB Medical College and Hospital will also have modern transport facilities, restaurants and commercial centres. There will be a provision for 1280 residential quarters and accommodation facility for 2200 students.
