Bhubaneswar: A businessman was attacked and the house he was staying at on rent was ransacked by around 20 people at N-3, Nayapalli area here in the city on Tuesday night. The man has lodged a complaint at Nayapalli police station following the incident. Police registered a case and launched an investigation.

"The attackers include some bouncers and anti-social. Upasana Mohapatra, the house owner was also present there. They beat me up and took away my mobile phone and all files from my office," the complainant said.
He had been staying at the house on rent for last couple of years. The house owner asked him to vacate the room immediately on Tuesday afternoon and the businessman refused to do so all of a sudden.
Later, around 20 people barged into the house, beat him up and vandalised his furniture. The man sustained injuries on his ear in the attack.
"An FIR has been registered in this connection. Around 40 to 50 people had forcefully entered his house and vandalised furniture. They have also attacked him in which he sustained injuries on ear. As many as 14 people have been detained in this connection," DCP Umashankar Dash said.
