Bhubaneswar: At a time when the whole nation is set to welcome Lord Ganesh, L Eswar Rao of Jatni village in Khurda district has found a unique eco-friendly way to celebrate the Ganesh Chaturthi festival this year.
Among millions of gigantic idols of the elephant-headed God, Rao’s miniature idols of the Lord which have been created using soaps, battery cells and pencil nib has garnered appreciations by many across the country.
Rao is quite renowned for his miniature arts as he has been practicing it since last 20 years.
This apart, the artist has sculpted Lord Ganesh by carving 0.5 cm pencil tip in just three hours.
Rao has also kept a museum at his house which displays his various miniature arts.
