Odisha: 8 Dacoits Arrested After High-Speed Chase, Fire Arms Seized

Sambalpur: Police nabbed eight notorious dacoits at Bhima Bhoi Square in Rairakhol on Friday after chasing them for about 100 kilometres from Bolangir.

Following a tip off, a team from Bolangir Sadar police station followed an SUV carrying suspected dacoits till Rairakhol. When the dacoits tried to give the cops a slip, the police team reportedly opened fire at their vehicle at Bhima Bhoi Square.

One of the tyres of the SUV blew out after being hit by a bullet, forcing the vehicle to stop. The cops managed to nab eight dacoits from the vehicle and seized fire arms, ammunitions and sharp weapons from them.

The chase that resembled like a Bollywood action movie became the talk of the town with the locals hailing the daredevilry of the police.
