Cuttack: A great relief for students residing in remote areas of the state minus internet and computer facility as e-admission to +3 classes in various streams across the state will not be compulsory henceforth. The students can apply as usual through forms available in the colleges they want to pursue courses like before.

This was stated in an interim order given by High Court on Tuesday on a miss case filed by one Biswabasu Das. The Higher Education Department on October 15, 2012 had issued an advertisement stating e-admission would be compulsory for various junior and degree colleges across the state effective 2012.

As internet facility is unavailable in most areas of the state, the miss case demanded to make e-admission an option not a compulsion. The High Court has ordered the interim order will remain intact until final hearing is completed.
