Balasore: At least nine persons of a family hailing from Gujarat sustained injuries after the van they were travelling in hit a truck near Talanagar under Soro Police limits on National Highway-16 in Balasore district Friday morning.
All the injured have been identified as residents of Aravalli area in Gujarat. Three persons who received critical injuries have been rushed to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) while the other six persons have been admitted to Soro Community Health Centre (CHC) where they are undergoing treatment.
As per reports, the van was enroute to Puri from Gujarat when the driver allegedly dozed off thereby losing control over the vehicle which subsequently hit a truck.
Immediately after the accident, locals rushed to the spot and rescued the injured pilgrims.
