Nuapada: A newborn girl was today found abandoned near a village pond at Kurumpadi Daldali village in the district. The baby is believed to be two to three days old.
According to information, some locals of the village while ploughing a farmland near the pond heard the baby crying and rescued the tiny tot.
She was first handed over to Childline officials and later admitted to the Nuapada hospital with the help of ASHA workers. Her health condition is stated to be stable. Police have begun investigation into the incident.
