Puri: Puri district administration on Sunday issued a new directive to allow more number of devotees to have darshan of the Holy Trinity at Jagannath Temple. As per the latest decision, working professionals and tenants residing in the pilgrim town can now have the privilege of having darshan of the deities along with other residents of the town.
Puri Collector, Balwant Singh today informed that the working professionals need to bring their identity proof and a letter of appointment by the concerned employers to get darshan of the Lord Jagannath and his sibling deities at the Puri Srimandir.
Similarly, people living in rented accommodations in the town will be allowed inside Srimandir provided they bring along the consent letter of their respective landlords or house owners.
Special arrangements have also been made for the senior citizens so that they can have the Darshan of the deities without any hassles, Singh added.
It is pertinent to mention here that the district administration has allowed the Darshan of the deities for the residents of Puri till December 31. For managing the rush, residents are allowed inside the temple on ward-basis.
Already a detailed list and ward-wise schedule have been prepared by the district administration.
On Saturday, people of ward number 2, 3, 6, 9, 11, 12 got the chance to have the darshan of the deities in a phased manner (three shifts) starting from 7:30 am.
Eight kiosks have been made for the smooth and disciplined darshan by the residents of Puri. 18 platoons of forces have been deployed to monitor the law and order situation and ensure strict adherence of Covid-19 guidelines during the Darshan.
Meanwhile, devotees from outside Puri would be allowed entry into the Puri Jagannath Temple from January 3, 2021. They will have to produce Covid-19 negative reports obtained within 48 hours prior to their visit.
