Bhubaneswar: A whopping Rs 1,05,34,760 was collected as penalty from people for violating various traffic norms between September 1 and November 1 since the implementation of amended Motor Vehicle Act, State commerce and transport minister Padmanabha Behera informed the Odisha Assembly on Thursday.

Replying to a question raised by BJP MLA Mohan Charan Majhi, Behera said the highest amount of penalty of Rs 46, 00,850 was collected from 5317 persons for driving vehicles without valid driving licences.
