Bhubaneswar: In his maiden overseas trip since he took charge of the state 12 years ago as Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik today left for an eight-day trip to London.

During his tour, Naveen is scheduled to discuss with the UK’s department for international development (DFID) regarding various developmental programmes such as tackling malnutrition and improving SC, ST girls’ education. Naveen would also take part in a discussion at the Institute of Development Studies, Sussex regarding tackling poverty and malnutrition. The BJD supremo will inaugurate the Odisha Handloom Exhibition scheduled to be held at London.

The Chief Minister who is expected to return on May 31 has been accompanied by textiles and handloom minister Usha Devi, minister of state for SC, ST Ramesh Majhi and other five IAS officers.
