Bhubaneswar: A mother and daughter duo was killed while the father and son escaped unhurt in a road mishap in the state capital today, police said.

The incident took place at Barmunda area when Soumitra Das was going to drop his wife and children at schools on his motorbike.

Das`s bike hit a loaded truck at a turning killing his wife Kunibala and daughter Soumya.

"Though we fell down from the bike, neither me nor my son was hurt in the accident," Das told reporters adding that the truck suddenly appeared before his bike at the turning.

The police have seized the truck and arrested its driver.
