Bhubaneswar: A man travelling in a ‘Mo Bus’ sustained grievous injuries after he was allegedly pushed out of the vehicle by the employee near Hansapal square on the outskirts of the city on Tuesday evening.
The incident took place following an altercation between the passenger and conductor over some issues related to fare. The left leg of the passenger suffered critical injuries. He was admitted to Capital Hospital for treatment.
According to reports, the passenger boarded the bus from Shreya Talkies and paid money to the conductor to get a ticket. The conductor, however, issued him a receipt of a longer route-Master Canteen-Hanspal by keeping more amount than the actual fare which led to an altercation between them.
The conductor assured him to return the pending amount, but he didn’t do so.
“When I demanded my money back, he refused to pay saying that money can’t be refunded after issuance of receipt. I argued with him for a while and by the time, the bus passed my destination. I requested him to stop the vehicle so that I could get down safely,” the victim said.
Later, the driver slowed down the vehicle at Puri Canal road. “The employee pushed me out and closed the door immediately. I fell down and the bus ran over my leg,” he added.
Meanwhile, the CRUT (Capital Region Urban Transport) authorities, the managing body of the ‘Mo Bus’ services, initiated a probe into the incident. The bus employee has been kept off duty, a communication issued by CRUT stated.
