Miscreants Torch Country-Made Liquor Unit, Vehicles In Koraput

Koraput: Unidentified miscreants have set ablaze a country-made liquor unit in Pottangi area of Koraput district on Friday night. Several vehicles including a van and two motorcycles parked inside the liquor unit have also been torched.

As a poster threatening to shut the liquor unit has been recovered from the spot, the involvement of Maoists is suspected behind the incident.

After holding the owner and other staff of the liquor unit hostage and locking them inside a room, the miscreants torched the vehicles and a generator inside the complex of the liquor unit.

Senior police officials have reached the spot and further investigation into the incident is underway.
