Bhubaneswar: At a time when Odisha government is claiming to reach out to people through its 'Mo Sarkar' initiative and make governance people-centric, serious allegations of misbehaviour have been brought against a sub-inspector of Janla Police Outpost, Satyabrata Grahacharya.
As per the allegations, the police officer allegedly misbehaved over telephone with one Ranjit Parida against whose brother-in-law an assault case has been registered.
"The concerned officer entered our house without any women officer in the dead of the night and searched for my brother. When my husband called the officer to know exactly what had happened, he hurled abuses over telephone," alleged Ranjit's wife, who brought the matter to the notice of senior officials of Commissionerate Police today.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Mo Sarkar initiative has been launched by the Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik to collect feedback from people regarding the behaviour of police officers and their promptness in grievance redressal.
Though the concerned officer could not be contacted, Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi while interacting with media after conducting a review of the crime situation today stated that "Nearly 93 % feedback which we are getting is satisfactory. We will certainly take corrective steps to rectify the lacuna."
