Kendrapara: A 15-year old girl was allegedly gang raped by three youths at Kantia village in Kendrapara district on Saturday night, the police said.
The victim, who accompanied her family to a religious fair last night, was picked up by three youths from the crowd. Later, the accused took her to a nearest bush and assaulted her sexually, police added.
The family members launched a search operation after they failed to find her in the fair ground. A relative of the victim traced her near the bush in an injured condition.
Later, they lodged a complaint at Sadar police station and admitted the girl to Kendrapara hospital. Police conducted medical examination of the victim and launched a manhunt to nab the trio who are absconding.
