Bhubaneswar: The State Capital registered a record temperature on Saturday for the fourth consecutive day as mercury went up to 40.6 degree Celsius.
Bhubaneswar was the hottest in the State on Saturday. The city had registered 40.4 degree Celsius on Friday. The condition will prevail in next three-four days, weather officials predicted.
The mercury will witness a rise by 3-4 degree Celsius in the next two three days. Districts like Cuttack, Jajpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Angul and Mayurbhanj will witness hot weather condition. People should remain caution between 11 am and 3 pm, Met official Ajay Nayak said.
The mercury continued to go up for the last four days. Bhubaneswar had recorded 38 degree celcsius on February 24, 39.4 degree on February 25 and 40.4 degree on February 26. However, the city broke all records on Saturday.
Jajpur with 39 degree temperature was the second hottest place after Bhubaneswar yesterday.
Meanwhile, the State government has instructed all district administrations to remain prepared to tackle the heat-wave condition.
