Bhubaneswar: After a brief dry spell, unseasonal rainfall with light to moderate intensity is all set to return to Odisha from tomorrow. Several parts of the State will experience rainfall for the next six days, predicted the Regional Meteorological Centre here on Monday.
While the weather department issued ‘Yellow Warning’ for several districts for the next 24 hours, it has predicted that light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur in several parts of the State till February 8.
“One or two places in Mayurbhanj, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur and Balasore will experience light to moderate rain tomorrow. Similarly, rainfall is likely to occur at most places of the districts Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kandhamal, Khurda and Cuttack on March 4 and 5,” said Duty Officer at IMD Bhubaneswar, Charan Behera.
“We have also issued ‘Yellow Warning’ for some districts where thunderstorm and lightning are likely to occur. The districts are Bhadrak, Balasore, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal and Jajpur,”Behera said.
He further said that thunderstorm and rainfall is likely to increase after March 4.
Meanwhile, Daringbadi today recorded the lowest temperature of 13.5 degree Celsius followed by Sundergarh (14), Sonepur (14.4), Angul (14.6) and Titilagarh (14.8). The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded a minimum temperature of 19.7 and 18.2 degree Celsius respectively.
