Bhubaneswar: Four superintendents for the annual HSC examination were today relieved from their duty for their alleged involvement in mismanagement of the examination.

According to sources, four teachers – Khetramohan Mahanta of Kushaleshwara High School, Gokul Chandra Mahanta of Dhanei Vidyapeetha, Balabhadra Behera of BD High School and Anand Behera of Sundergarh District Panchayat High School – have been discharged from their assigned duties.

Similarly, a police complaint has been lodged against Mangaraj Nayak for appearing the examination in place of an actual candidate. The FIR also names the headmaster of Chaitaniya Prasad High School as an accused for helping the fake candidate.

Authorities have also suspended Laxmidhara Nayak who was involved in the case. The incidence came to the fore during the English examination at a centre in Keonjhar district.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, the fourth day of Matric exam, 163 candidates have been caught for committing malpractices.
