Bhubaneswar: The Maoists have trained their guns on Odisha government for its anti-farmer policy and the recently concluded Make in Odisha conclave. In an audio-tape, secretary of Ghumusar-Nagavali division of the CPI ( Maoist), Umakant termed the conclave a means to sell Odisha.
“The BJD organised the Make in Odisha conclave for its own publicity and to collect funds. The funds will be subsequently used by the ruling party to buy votes in the upcoming elections. There will be no development of the State from such investments,” the rebels alleged in the tape.
The Maoist leader Umakant further raised question on the claims that the conclave would generate additional 5 lakh jobs as Odisha government has failed miserably to provide employments to 50,000 youths.
“CM Naveen Patnaik is an empty vessel which only makes loud sound. The State government has turned a blind eye on the plight of the farmers while the inter-ministerial committee is just a gimmick to hoodwink them,” alleged Umakant.
Industries Minister, Anant Das on the other hand claimed that Odisha government is working for the development of the State and its people.
