Bolangir: Continuing their target to hit the livelihood of tribal people, the Maoists have again set ablaze three kendu leaf godowns under khaprakhol block last night. With this, the number of kendu leaf godowns which were reduced to ashes by the Maoists have reached 15 within two days.
On Saturday night, the extremist group had burnt as many as twelve godowns in Bharumunda, Bender, Singhbahali, Lahadunguri, Bartia and Sunamudi villages. The rebels left pamphlets demanding 8-point charter of demands including hike in the price of kendu leaf and proper remuneration for leaf pluckers.
